Turns out that my perfect girl Kiyo probably has a fractured metatarsal in her right front foot. The local orthopedic specialist who is an acquaintance of mine will be shooting radiographs tomorrow. Kiyo foot and leg will be in a splint for 4-6 weeks.
Keeping her quiet will be an effort. Planning on nose work exercises, as well as scent discrimination and retrieval games to keep her mind busy.
Meanwhile, Toka’s life is filled with activities. Thursday we went to Myer’s Park in Lansing, where we joined a group of like minded dog people for a bit of training. One of the women was taking a ton of photos and sent a few along
In the past week, a wide, dark ‘V’ has appeared between his eyebrows. Sometimes it makes him look impish, other times, he looks very wise. Right now he’s spending most of his time looking impish.
Yesterday, we went to a picnic, where Toka charmed the attendees and showed off his (mostly) good manners.
I had to look twice at that pix of Toka to be sure it was him! That “V” is certainly new–I haven’t seen it before. He looks so mature–it’s a lovely pix. Toka is well on his way to becoming a handsome dog. He’s gotten a lot bigger than when I last him–what? two weeks ago. Nice, nice head shot of the beautiful Kiyo, too.
