Multi-faceted puppy

I’ve got hay & straw, I’ve got rats.  Pet rats, not the pesky, invasive ‘oh-my-bawd-we’ve-got-rats!’ kind.  The rats here have a job – they go into their sturdy, secure tubes several times a week so Kiyo can train for barn hunt.

Turns out that puppies can enter barn hunt events at 6 months of age.  While Toka may not be mature enough to be entered in November trials, he can sure learn some of the elements of the sport.

We’re practicing tunneling.  He’s a bit too small to get onto bales easily, so if he gets 2 paws on, I make a big fuss.

We’re also starting (very) rudimentary agility work.  Toka walks the wide plank:
